      Amino acid is a monomer unit of a peptide polymer. It is composed of an amine end (usually protonated NH3+), joined to the “alpha carbon” (chiral in every aa except glycine), and ended by a carboxylic acid end (deprotonated at physiological pH). The alpha carbon has a hydrogen and an R group, where R is any of an assortment of side chains (which in glycine, is simply another H)

      it can form them if conditions are right to have a condensation reaction, where water is lost from two adjacent amino acids, and they form a peptide bond between the carboxy terminus of one amino acid and the amino terminus of the next. You have to have more than one free amino acids to form peptide bonds – the way the question is phrased, I would say no since “acid” is singular.
