Demystifying Bodybuilding Myths To Reach Your Bodybuilding Goals

There are various bodybuilding myths which will be demystified in this article. If you are a novice bodybuilder you should understand some of these myths so that you can reach your bodybuilding goal. They include;

1. If you don’t train your muscle will change into fat

This myth has spread like wild fire in the bodybuilding industry. Many people have ended up afraid to get very big because they think that if they start to get very big there muscles will end up being converted into body fat. It is not possible for muscles to convert into fat because muscles and fat are two entirely different things. The reason why you may end up gaining weight if you stop bodybuilding has to do with the fact that you eat a lot of food and you are not training intensely at the same time. If you eat a lot of food and you do not train intensely the excess calories of your diet will be converted into body fat.

2. When the muscles burn, you are achieving muscle growth

Just because you are feeling a burning sensation in your muscles does not mean that your muscles are growing. The reason why you are feeling that burning sensation in your muscles could be because you are building lactic acids in your muscles. This normally occurs because you are undertaking very intense endurance training beyond the levels of your lactic acid threshold. Therefore just because you are experiencing muscle burn does not mean that your muscles have gotten bigger.

3. The only way to get abs is by doing sit up exercises

There are very many exercises which can help you to increase your abs apart from sit up exercises. Crunches are a very good example of exercises which can also help you get a pair of six pack abs. You need to perform aerobic exercises as well so that you can be able to get rid of the fat on the tummy which might make your six packs not to be visible.

4. A proper workout session should be more than an hour

This myth has caused many people to lose the muscles they had already acquired. The reason being when you undertake a prolonged workout session of more than 40 minutes then you will be enhancing catabolism. The only way the body can be able to withstand a workout session lasting for more than 40 minutes is if you are using steroids.

5. No pain No gain

This is the oldest myth in bodybuilding which has caused many people to end up over training. When you over train you end up placing a lot of stress on your body which could make you lose the already acquired muscles. The other adversity of overtraining is that it can make you injure yourself when training. As a bodybuilder it is important to avoid injuries because they could make you fail in your bodybuilding career. Therefore you should allocate enough rest period between workouts.
